It is with a sense of great loss that we announce the passing of Bonnie R. Trawick. Bonnie was the
wife of our founder James L. "Leslie" Trawick. Leslie and Bonnie started J.L. Trawick Construction
Company in 1946. That company was eventually to become Trawick Construction as we know it today.
In those early days Leslie and Bonnie would prepare a bid, and say a prayer over it before it was
turned in, a tradition that most of us believe started this company on a path of success that it has
enjoyed for almost 60 years as well as a reverence for God, his will, and recognition that it is
from him that all blessings flow.
Bonnie and Leslie touched a lot of lives in their stay here on earth, and we are all better people
for the experience of having known them. Bonnie maintained an active role here at Trawick into the
mid nineties. One of the last duties she faithfully performed was the last check and signing of
payroll checks here at Trawick. Bonnie would examine each check, check the math, sign it and see
that they were delivered. These checks touched many families, some of them who never had the privilege
of knowing Bonnie personally. This was only one of the ways Bonnie blessed those lives of the people
around her.
As Bonnie leaves this world, let us all say a prayer for her family, as Bonnie prayed for our
families, who we're sure will miss her touch on their lives in the days and years to come. They
can take comfort in the knowledge that Bonnie is now in a place of joy and peace.
"A capable, intelligent and virtuous woman, who is he who can find her? She is far more precious
than jewels, and her value is far above rubies or pearls." Proverbs 31:10
Funeral arrangements are a visitation Saturday, May 22, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Vernon Highway,
